hydraulic intensifier compressor (HIC)...

At the heart of the Pinnacle CNG compression system is the most efficient gas compressor technology currently available.  Conventional CNG stations use reciprocating compressors which are less efficient and more expensive to operate than the patented Pinnacle system.

The standard reciprocating compressor begins to see
significant efficiency losses above 800 PSI and can only deliver 43% volumetric efficiencies at discharge pressures of 4,500. Pinnacle employs a linear acting, hydraulically driven gas intensifier which discharges at more than 1,000 PSI and is 93% to 98% volumetrically efficient.

Our Hydraulic Intensifier Compressor (HIC) operates at the equivalent of 15 cycles per minute compared to the 1800 RPM for conventional reciprocating compressor technology.  HICs have 120 times fewer valve openings per minute, are non-lubricated, and have water cooled gas cylinders resulting in 100° lower discharge temperatures. All of these features combine to provide a long reliable operating life while significantly reducing the energy consumed to actually compress the gas.

Because Pinnacle's reputation depends on meeting and exceeding client expectations, all of our customers have the opportunity to fly in and see their CNG station pre-tested to their specifications at our test bay before it is delivered, installed and turned over to the customer.

Pre-delivery testing your equipment lets you:

  • Know that your product meets your contract specifications prior to delivery

  • See your CNG station operate under the same pressure and conditions as the final location

  • Avoid, final on-site testing which is expensive, time consuming and very risky

  • Know your station won't be shipped until your satisfied with its performance
